Ultimate Bucket Lists

Ultimate Bucket Lists

When it comes to travel, everyone has a list of the places they want to go to, the experiences that they want to encounter and the adventures that they want to fulfill …
This is otherwise known as the “Bucket List” and the ultimate goal is to tick each item off your list.

If you want to live a life filled with achievement, success, excitement, fun and adventure, you need to dream big!   And, the first step to dreaming big, is to create a Bucket List!

Your Bucket List is as individual as you are!  It will no doubt be different to your partners or your best friends, it will be completely personal based on your own interests, your own dreams and your individual desires to travel and experience things all over the world.

Some Bucket List ideas may actually be very practical and within your reach and you will set out a plan to ensure it happens, whilst others may only be a far-fetched fantasy, the “when I win the lottery” dream!  It doesn’t really matter, it’s YOUR Bucket List, the main thing is to actually have a think about all the places you would want to go and write them down so you have one!

I remember writing my first bucket list whilst planning my very first overseas holiday.

At 22, my 1st Bucket List trip, a 12 month travel & work holiday to US, UK & Europe.

I was 22 and I had just completed my studies in Business Management – Travel and Tourism and I was keen to take off on a 12 month around the world trip before settling into my career. I was off to work on a Summer Camp for 3 months in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania USA and I knew very little about America and wasn’t particularly that interested in exploring too much of it. I knew I wanted to go to Disneyland and see the Hollywood sign, see the statue of Liberty and go to the top of the Empire State Building in New York – but really that was about it!

I was then off to the UK to do a 6 month stint on a working holiday, travel to a few places in Europe and then come home – all within 12 months. My bucket list was very small before I took off on this trip, all I wanted to see was Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the leaning tower of Pisa, the Vatican & the Sistine Chapel and if I could go to Salzburg where The Sound of Music was made then I would come home completely content.

This first trip overseas ignited a passion in me that is still with me to this day and will be with me for as long as I live and as long as I am able to travel.  That “6 month stint” in the UK turned into almost 5 years and I lived and worked in London whilst travelling frequently & extensively throughout the UK & Europe.  As I travelled more and more, my Bucket List grew and grew.  As I visited more places and met other travellers who talked about places that I had never heard of, my list just kept growing and my desire to travel and experience as much of the world as possible continued to burn.

I have been very fortunate to have travelled extensively over the past 20 years or so and have now travelled to over 40 countries (Oh and by the way, I actually fell in love with USA on that first visit and have been there 6 times now and have travelled extensively throughout – one of my favourite cities in the world is actually New Orleans!)

Working in travel allows the greatest opportunity for my passion to be continually ignited, whether it be through sharing the knowledge & travel tips I have gained from my own experiences or living vicariously through the amazing Bucket List Travel and Cruises I get to plan for my clients.

One thing I know for sure, with every Bucket List I seem to tick off, there is always another one being discovered to add to the list!  I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list!
